Migrants bring ‘bad genes’ to US: Trump

Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, stated on Monday that immigrants contribute “bad genes” to the U.S.

He made these comments while discussing crimes allegedly committed by illegal immigrants.

In an interview with conservative commentator Hugh Hewitt, Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris’s immigration policies.

He claimed, “13,000 of those who crossed the border were murderers.”

Trump continued, stating that many have killed multiple people and are now living in the U.S. He asserted, “Being a murderer is in their genes, and we have many bad genes in this country.”

The Trump campaign defended his remarks, clarifying that he was only addressing murderers, not all immigrants.

Nonetheless, academic studies indicate that illegal immigrants do not commit crimes at a higher rate than U.S.-born citizens or naturalized Americans.
